Early in the morning, you will be transferred to our office to pick up your bike. Ride south the Panamerican Highway crossing the “hill of death” (Cerro de la Muerte) into San Gerardo de Dota.
San Gerardo is also a paradise for birdwatchers as it has more than 170 bird species, including some of the most rare and endangered bird species. It is a special place for watching the resplendent quetzal bird, one of the most ornate creatures of the wild which belongs to the family of Trogonidae. In the past only royalty were permitted to wear Quetzal feathers which served as a substitute for the gems and diamonds known to European royalty. Mayan kings wore headdresses of dozens of the long feathers with their stunning iridescence

Day 3 : Manuel Antonio (B)

Early in the morning, take a hike though the cloud forest, luckily you will be able to spot a “quetzal” bird. Then, continue to Manuel Antonio and enjoy the national park and beach or take the south loop via Cortez, Palmar, Buenos Aires & San Isidro then continue to Manuel Antonio. Considered to be Costa Rica’s most beautiful park, it offers enchanting white-sand beaches ideal for swimming, and tropical rainforest alive with wildlife. Watch for the monkeys and iguanas who share the park with you. Most hotels are small and intimate, set high on a hill overlooking the rain forest, endless beaches and the national park.

Day 4 : Arenal Volcano (B)

Today you have a long ride to La Fortuna, at the base of the world famous Arenal Volcano.
Arenal’s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer’s dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your “must-do in Costa Rica” list. Both nature and beach lovers will find plenty here to fill their days. Tamarindo is famous for its stunning beaches, its marine national park and wildlife refuge. This area encompasses beaches that attract one of the largest leatherback turtle populations in the world. Peak nesting seasons in the area are November through February.
